During a treatment, the laser emits a Focused wavelength that passes through the surrounding tissue and is absorbed into the melanin of the hair follicle. The heat from the laser is conducted down the shaft to the growth cells and follicle. The precision controlled thermal damage to the follicle growth cells destroys the hair follicle. Optimal conduction of heat can only be achieved while the hair is in the Anagen phase and the shaft is still connected to the hair follicle growth cells. Treatments vary depending on the hair follicle, hormone levels, genetics, location, density, and depth. All of these factor into the number of treatments required. You will fell a warm sensation as the laser penetrates the hair follicle. Many people describe the sensation as the snap of a rubber band against their skin. Most don’t feel anything at all. Please be sure all areas to be treated are clean-shaven 24 hours before your appointment. This helps minimize any pain on the skins surface.

Please don’t use lotion on the area being treated within 24 hours. Sometimes lotion has dye and the laser can find the sye and cause a electrical feeling. So please reframe from wearing creams or deodorant to the appointment.

Please protect against UV exposure and, to be safe, please wear sunscreen # 30 while outside for s prior to and post your treatment.

If you are sunburned, for your safety you must wait two (2) weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage. You can still treat with tan skin.

Please avoid sunless tanning products prior to treatment. If possible, please exfoliate the area to remove any residual color.

Please come to appointments with clean skin in the area to be treated. All members who are treating any part of their face or neck should cleanse their entire face and/or neck before treatment

Please avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for two (2) weeks prior and two (2) weeks after your laser treatment.

Please stop waxing, tweezing and chemical epilation three (3) weeks prior to treatment.

For your own safety, if you have used acne treatments such as Isotretinoin/Accutane or similar products within the last six (6) months you cannot have laser hair removal treatments.

If you have Botox or fillers in the area to be treated, wait two (2) weeks both before and after injection to receive treatments.

Avoid sunburns UV exposure for post-treatment. You may still tan but please don’t burn.

If blisters occur, do not puncture. If skin is broken, apply an antibiotic ointment until healed and contact the studio for further treatment guidance.

Over the counter medication such as Tylenol is recommended for post treatment discomfort. You may also apply Restorative Gel (highest recommended), cool towels, ice packs or aloe vera to alleviate discomfort due to heat.

Avoid using seat warmers immediately after treatment.

Avoid any additional laser treatments or chemical procedures on the treated area for at least two (2) weeks post-treatment or until healing has occurred.

Using a UVA/UVB SPF 30 is critical when receiving laser treatments and is recommended ongoing for maintenance until you finish laser sessions.

If you experience any side effects, such as hypo- or hyper-pigmentation, prolonged redness or swelling, a histamine reaction, or blistering, call or come in for instructions on treatment.

To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your treatment specialist.
