During treatment, the laser emits light that is absorbed into the melanin of the hair follicle. Thermal damage is precisely targeted to the growth cells, destroying the hair follicle.

Effectively destroying the hair follicle can only be achieved while the hair is in the Anagen phase where the shaft is connected to the growth cells. This is why we ask you not to pluck, wax or tweeze before treatments.

The time and number of your treatment sessions depend on the treatment area size and how well your body reacts to the laser levels.

For example, laser hair removal on the upper lip area may take less than a minute, while other areas such as the arms, legs, or back can take between 15 and 30 minutes. However, all of our laser hair removal treatments are virtually pain-free and highly efficient.

Eliminating all hair follicles in the desired area requires the following considerations:

• Size of area
• Reaction to the treatment
• Hair type
• Skin type

Laserboxx only uses the best, state-of-the-art laser technology in the industry compared to other laser hair removal services. We’re adamant about doing it right the first time with the technology and treatment protocol we follow. All unwanted pigmented body hair follicles are effectively removed with fewer treatments than in other places.

With each treatment session, the laser impairs the hair’s growth capacity. However, completely destroying the hair follicles requires your hair to be in the Anagen (Growth) phase.

Unfortunately, hair follicles are not all simultaneously in the Anagen (Growth) phase. Instead, each hair follicle is in different stages, Growth, Transition, or Resting. Since we can only apply laser hair removal treatment during the Anagen (Growth) phase, we schedule treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart to ensure all areas are treated in the Anagen phase.

You can expect significant reductions after 3-4 sessions.

Your skin should feel a warm sensation as the laser penetrates the root of the hair follicle. You might compare the sensation with a snap of a rubber band. To minimize any discomfort, a cooling gel is applied to the skin along with our electro-cooled tip to ensure your skin remains cool for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Laserboxx’s treatment specialists employ two distinct wavelength technologies using the Luxion 808 Diode laser system. This advanced hair removal system is tailored to your individual skin type and specific treatment area of the body.

Please carefully read and follow these pre-treatment guidelines to ensure the best results and safety for your skin:

• All areas receiving treatment should be clean-shaven 24 hours before your appointment.
• Do not apply any lotion, creams, oils, or deodorant to the area being treated within 24 hours of your appointment.
• Avoid UV exposure, applying sunscreen while outside 7 days prior to your treatment appointment.
• If you are sunburned, you must wait 2 weeks before receiving treatment to avoid additional skin damage.
• Avoid applying any sunless tanning products 7 days prior to treatment. If possible, please exfoliate the area to remove any residual color from these products.
• Arrive at appointments with clean, washed skin in the area to be treated. Face and neck treatment areas should be thoroughly and entirely cleansed before treatment at Laserboxx.
• Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after your laser treatment.
• Stop waxing, tweezing, and chemical epilation 3 weeks prior to treatment.
• For your own safety, we will not perform laser hair removal treatment if you have used acne treatments such as Isotretinoin/Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months.
• If you have Botox or fillers in the area to be treated, please wait 2 weeks both before and after the injections to receive laser hair removal treatments.

Please carefully read and follow these post-treatment guidelines to ensure the best results and safety for your skin:

• Avoid extended UV exposure for 7 days post-treatment.
• If blisters occur, do not puncture.
• If skin is broken, apply an antibiotic ointment until it heals.
• Tylenol and other similar over-the-counter medications are recommended for post-treatment discomfort. You may also apply Restorative Gel (highest recommended), cool towels, ice packs or aloe vera to alleviate discomfort due to heat.
• Avoid using heated seat warmers immediately after treatment.
• Avoid any additional laser treatments or chemical procedures on the treated area for at least 2 weeks post-treatment or until healing has occurred.
• Using a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen SPF 30 is critical when receiving laser treatments and is recommended for ongoing maintenance.
• If you experience any side effects, such as hypo- or hyper-pigmentation, prolonged redness or swelling, a histamine reaction, or blistering, call or text (602) 784-4011 or come in for instructions on treatment.
• To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your treatment specialist.
• Exfoliate treated areas to minimize risk of ingrown hairs.
